WICKWIRE fine art/folk art was founded by Barbara Wickwire in May 1998 and co-owned in April, 1999 by Shirley Palmer-Hill who became sole-owner in July 2000.

In 2004, along with husband Dave and a dedicated staff, WICKWIRE expanded to two locations and 3700 sq ft.

Today, resized and streamlined into one location at 330 N. Main Street, the Gallery in addition offers wickwireartgallery.com - an informative Web site and Online Gallery combination available 24-hours a day.  Whether you are at WICKWIRE'S Main Street location or online, you can enjoy and select from WICKWIRE'S showcase of exemplary artwork by numerous local, regional and national Artists.  From Artists to Staff - all who are involved at WICKWIRE share their expertise.  This Western North Carolina art gallery continues to provide its loyal customers and newest of visitors exceptional service and countless, distinctive art choices for gifts, home and office decor year 'round.

 
WICKWIRE'S focus has always been on what it can offer the community with memberships in all art-associated organizations in Henderson County. Shirley was awarded 'Small Business Leader of the Year' in 2001 by The Greater Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce and has constructively served during the last decade on Boards which support the Arts and Historic Downtown Hendersonville.
