After studying art at a local college in Northern Virginia, and attending the Cocran School of Art nearby Washington DC, I realized most artists (especially young ones) starve.

I spent the next 20 years as a carpenter to pay my bills. Having learned volumes about wood, and how it behaves, I was finally able to combine my love of wood with my artistic aspirations along with some instruction in wood working locally in south Florida.

I use mostly local tropical hardwoods, indigenous to Florida such as mango, royal ponciana, banyon, and many varieties of citrus trees.

Finishes are of natural oils and wax, with some lacquer where appropriate.

Care is simply dusting with a spray wax (Pledge works fine). I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.
