"Although we will look at collage as an art form, you won't need to know how to draw. You don't even need to consider yourself an artist! All you need is an open mind and a desire to create. Come and join us in the adventure of creating a work of art with art board, paper, fabric and glue. It is going to be so much fun!"
RuthEllen's artistic talents were never fully developed until later in life. In 1980 she realized that she might have some talent as she helped her son with an art project in school. Soon after she was happily painting landscapes and traveling with her family to arts & crafts shows around the southeast. From there her abilities and creativity truly took off. In the mid 90's Ruth Ellen started a series of inspirational paintings. She has published 16 lithographs over the years, most of which are sold. In 2007 she released her first book, "My Favorite Psalm". The book sold out quickly and was published a second time which sold out in less than two years. In 2009, RuthEllen was given the honor of having her delicate watercolor of a full and lovely apple tree, "Bearing Fruit", chosen as the logo for the 63rd North Carolina Apple Festival in Hendersonville, NC.
